Photographs made when accompanying Chirodeep Choudhary and Jerry Pinto when they were making a story on Charlie's Circle which Dr. Aswani started. Dr Ashok Aswani has been organising a parade in his hometown Adipur, Gujrat every year since 1980 to honour the birth anniversary of Sir Charlie Chaplin. It is the only Charlie Chaplin fan club in India.
'In 2009, Jerry Pinto and I met the genial doctor in Adipur; Gujarat. We were working on a story about Dr. Aswani’s Charlie Circle and the celebrations that he held each year on 16th April to mark the birth anniversary of the British comedian who ruled the silent era and continued to astonish the world with films like ‘The Great Dictator’, ‘Monsieur Verdoux’ and ‘Limelight’ when sound came to the flickers. Such was Dr. Aswani’s obsession with Chaplin that he routinely handed CDs of his films to his patients. Medicines and a dose of Chaplin was what he prescribed for good health.' Chirodeep Choudhary
